Rain

Rain, Rain, Rain wont it ever go away? I'm stuck indoors with two bored kids. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Found out my car problem. Bad fuel pump. Sad thing is my model has two a low pres. in the tank and a high press. on the body. Luckly the high press. went bad. Its still under warranty. : }

Well here we are again folks another day, would say another dollar but thats not the case for me today. Just finished the kids school work for the day. My oldest one is just blowing me away with his math. Hes picking it up about as fast as i give it to him. My youngest is doing better now that I have found out he needs the one on one teaching. Working with his brother is to much of a distraction. Cleaning on the kitchen thought I would take a break to avoid those dish pan hands all of us guys worry about. I need to vent about to go crazy being off work. Ive never not had a job until now. And I dont know what to do. I'm restless cant sleep, when I do its nightmares running through my head. I feel useless. I've been trying to organize my house but it seems as soon as I get one thing done its right back in the shape I started with. While I write this I'm praying to God to give me grace and wisdom. I took my kids playstation away until they started to do there schoolwork without giving my a hassel about it. They have won the right to play it today. And if you are wondering wh this posting is wondering from one topic to the next, sorry thats just the way my mind is working today. Still trying to get my stupid car to run but I'm at a stalemate with it. My lawnmower broke so I cant mow. Ive trimmed the hedges around the house.. Im going to leave the post now so people dont think im lossing it. To all that read this thing God bless.

Still finishing my home projects, about done though. A little hint for you do it yourself plumbers. Soap does not work as well as the plumbers tape. It hold for a while but I suggest parting with a little more money and buying the tape to wrap the threads with.

Well here it is the close of another day. Since I'm not working out in the real world at the moment I have started some home projects today. Started putting in a dual rod in my kids closet. Replacing the faucet in the half bath. Still trying to figure out the car problem. OH and building a stopper for the trash cans in the bathrooms of the church, so the lids will stop scrapping the walls up. Now if I could just sleep.

After today a old saying accurd to me. If the world hands you lemons make lemonade. I say just throw the lemons back at them.

Yeah its Friday!!! Short work day for me. : ) But bad news is my car is still down. I have the problem isolated but getting to the bad part is presenting a problem. I have to take the alternator, ac compressor and the relating brackets off just to get to the little sensor that went bad. So that will be my project for sat. They have demoed the old church next to us yesterday and are now in the clean up process. So working on the car today was out due to all the dust and things flying through the air. Its another Tuesday gone. Spent the day working on cars out in the heat oh what fun. Did get the AC charged in one though. The other is still down, but good news is I figured out the broke part.
Now I just have to take it out and replace it in the morning. Monday was my birthday spent the morning of it helping my Pastor move a stack of bricks and vinyl siding. Then got ready to go to work. Got about two miles from home and my car dies on the side of the rode in the middle of a blind curve. Talk about good places to go down. Got to work late and asked my boss if I could have the day off to get my car out of the road. He said to get out. I asked if I could come back tommorrow without a problem and he said consider today my birthday preasent and get my car fixed. I have a really good boss. God bless him.

Its the weekend yeah. I didnt get my yard done today so I get to finish it up now. Oh boy. Bad night though got home and had a tire blow out as soon a I pulled into my driveway. Better there then on the road. Other then that not much going on. OH something to remember when changing a tire make sure its level. If you get the tire off and the car falls its really a pain to get the jack back under it again.

Yeah made it to my 5 hour work day. Booo that means I'll get home in time to mow and trim the last half acre of my yard : (

Well its been another one of those days thinkfully its at a close. Found a video clip on youtube about fixing car door hinges. Its at the bottom of my blog. Take a look, it might even work. I cant say for sure I havent tried it, but thought the concept was neat.

I made it through my first day of the second week at work. They say I'm doing well. Still woundering about it myself though but I've managed to get a lead a night on all three nights I've been on the phone. THey say thats good for a new person. Had my first cussing tonight. He called my a female dog in some new and inventive ways. But I was calm and cool and told her to have a good night at her tuperware party tonight. : )_

Well its the end of another day. Had a good fellowship at church today, finger foods and homemade ice cream. It was nice and refreshing to have more adults to talk with. In my spare time I have been tinkering with a 83 Tbird. Its body and interior is in rough shape but fixable. It has a tight and sound power plant. So I have been surfing the net and ebay trying to find parts for it. But parts for that make and year are few and far. If anyone has suggestions on where to look let me know.

well today was my second day on the job. My kids are unhappy with me. They are used to me being at home to tuck them into bed at night and don't know how to handle me not being here now.
Neither do I. This makes about only the six'th time I have not been home for it. I don't know if it harder for them or for me.

Nightmare

I started a new job yesterday in the evening. Today was my first day of teaching the kids plus learning the ins and outs of the job. Let me just say its been straining my nerves today. Hopefully it will get easier as it goes along.

Has anyone ever noticed that just about all Dean Koontz novels have a dog in them?

Why is it when you have two boys close to the same age, teaching them is so diffucult at
times? The oldest you just sit him down and show him what you want done and he does it with little trubble. But the younger one sits there like a knot on a log saying I cant with out trying. Ive tried diffrent medeums to write in like colored sand and salt, shaving cream, mud, dirt. With all that I might get him to sort of right his name. I've used diffirent types of pens, pencile, crayons, sidewalk chalk, finger paint with the same results " I can't" I have made him one problem worksheets thinking that to much on the page is overwhelming him but still a no go. Its like pulling teeth to get him to even try. Any suggestions would be helpfull.

Fun

This is something for all dad's. If you want to connect with you're young children "play with them"
Sit in the floor play games, cars , leggos. Just whatever. I know its hard to do for some dads, it was for me. But seeing the joy in happiness in there eyes. Is worth the mild emberisment you might feel while doing it.

Advice

Ever hear a person say let sleeping dogs lye?"If you see a dog sleeping" I was telling my kids" and hes twitching and moving his legs hes having a good dream. But if you see one sleeping thats making noises in its throat leave it alone. Chances are its having a bad dream. Don't scar it awake it might bite. Watch like this Results four stitches. Yes I know here's your sign.

was working on a ceiling fan today. Had the bright idea of having my kids help. Had them stay in the room and let me know when the light went out while I flipped breakers to shut off the power. after two breakers they said the light was out. So here I go and take the fan apart and expose the wires. Needless to say the power was still on and now my fingernails are black. They thought they would help and turn the light off at the switch. : )

Stress

I have found that teaching kids at home can be stressfull. The best way I have found to deal with it is to stop for a min. Say a prayer and ask for grace. Then relize that your kids dont know what you do. They are still learning,the words you use to help explain the lesson are good to you but not for a small child. You spend so much time with them you start to think they are on the same mental leval as you.
